"Choosing Civility" author to speak at Drake, copies of book available at BCL

Copies of the book, "Choosing Civility" by P.M. Forni are available at the Bondurant Community Library.  The author will be speaking at Drake University Thursday, February 3, 2011, at 7 p.m.  Here is the Drake University press release on that event:

"Better Together: Creating Community through Civility"

Most of us would agree that thoughtful behavior and respect for different viewpoints are in short supply or simply forgotten in our hurried society with negative political campaigns and prevalent personal attacks.  Dr. P.M. Forni, a professor at Johns Hopkins University, will discuss rules that are most essential in connecting effectively and civilly with others.  He will also provide examples of how to put these rules into practice and make life--and the lives of others--more enjoyable, companionable, and rewarding.

Thursday, February 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Drake University, Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main, 2507 University Ave., Des Moines, IA  50311
